Each 1 ml contains:
-Sulfaquinoxaline sodium 34.88mg
-Pyrimethamine 9.8 mg
Sulfaquinoxaline is an anticoccidial belonging to the group of sulfonamides.
Sulfaquinoxaline has been used for control of coccidia and some susceptible bacteria in poultry.
Sulfaquinoxaline – Pyrimethamine (potentiated mixture) are highly effective against Eimeria acervulina and E. Tenella than Sulfaquinoxaline alone.
Like all sulfonamides, Sulfaquinoxaline acts as false substrate in the synthesis of folic acid (PABA) inhibiting the synthesis of folic acid. Pyrimethamine inhibits the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, an enzyme critical to synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid.
Thaminacox is indicated for the treatment of coccidiosis in broiler chickens and turkeys due to infection with Eimeria species.
Broiler chickens and turkeys.
